W. W. Designs, Inc. was founded by Mr. Wister Wenbing Wu in 1998. Over the course of his more than forty-year professional career, Mr. Wu has designed an extensive range of projects. His design works and competition entries—whether as a lead designer or team member—have received more than fifty awards, including multiple Excellent Architectural Design Awards from China’s Ministry of Construction and Ministry of Education, the Zhejiang Provincial Excellent Architectural Design Award, Excellence in Design Awards from the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Interior Designers, as well as numerous international competition honors.
To date, Mr. Wu has been recognized internationally with the Global Human Settlements Award on Planning and Design from the Global Forum on Human Settlements (GFHS), the MUSE Design Awards (Gold Winner), the London Design Awards (Gold Winner), the German ICONIC Awards (Winner), the Global Future Design Awards (Gold Winner), the YSE Green Award (Gold Winner), the NY Architectural Design Awards (Silver Winner), the French Design Awards (Silver Winner), the International Architecture & Design Awards(Bronze Winner), the World Landscape Architecture Awards (Honorable Mention), the 4 Future Awards (Honorable Mention), and he was shortlisted for the FX International Interior Design Awards.
Mr. Wu’s works have been featured in prominent professional publications, including Forty Years of Chinese Architecture: Selected Excellent Architectural Designs, Architectural Record (China), Architectural Journal, Architecture of Twentieth-Century China, and 101 Best New Buildings in the World.
Mr. Wu graduated from Zhejiang University in 1984 and subsequently joined the university’s Architectural Design and Research Institute, where he served successively as Project Architect, Project Manager, and Deputy Director of the Architectural Design Studio. In late 1989, he enrolled at the University of Oklahoma and earned a Master of Architecture degree in 1992. His professional experience includes roles as Chief Assistant to the Director of Design and Architectural Designer at the renowned U.S. A/E firm HTB, as well as Senior Designer, Director of International Development, and Executive Vice General Manager at the prominent A/E firm FSB. He also served for many terms as a visiting critic and adjunct instructor at the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture. He currently also serves as a member of the Planning and Design Committee of the GFHS.
